ABOUT THIS COURSE
Cardiac and respiratory emergencies do not only affect adults. In schools, nurseries, sports clubs and community settings, the ability to respond quickly and correctly to a child or infant in need of resuscitation is just as critical. The Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Basic Life Support and AED for Adults, Children and Infants (RQF) provides comprehensive CPR and AED training across all three age groups.
Delivered by National Training Hub — a Qualsafe registered centre (No. 907979) — this practical, regulated qualification gives participants the confidence and competence to respond effectively regardless of the casualty's age.

WHY CHOOSE NATIONAL TRAINING HUB?
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do I need any previous first aid knowledge?
No. There are no formal entry requirements. You simply need to be at least 14 years old and able to perform practical tasks at floor level. Our trainers guide you through every technique step by step.
What is the difference between adult, child and infant CPR?
The technique, rate and depth of compressions differ for each age group. For infants (under one year), a two-finger technique is used. For children, a modified depth and single-hand technique may be applied. Your trainer will cover all three clearly and give you hands-on practice with each.
Is this course suitable for school staff?
Yes. This is an ideal qualification for school staff, particularly those in primary settings, as it equips them to respond to an emergency involving a pupil of any age group. It also covers AED use, which is increasingly important as more schools install public access defibrillators.
How long is the certificate valid?
Your Qualsafe certificate is valid for 3 years. Annual CPR refresher training is recommended by the HSE and Resuscitation Council UK to keep your skills sharp between renewals.
