First aid requirements for schools and nurseries

Schools and early years settings have specific first aid obligations. The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework requires at least one person with a current Paediatric First Aid (PFA) certificate to be on the premises and available at all times when children are present. Ofsted inspections will check for PFA compliance.

We work around your school calendar. Training can be delivered during INSET days, holiday periods or after school hours, and our trainers are experienced working in school environments.

In-term delivery

  • Training on INSET days, in holidays or after school
  • Trainers experienced in school environments
  • Continuous PFA coverage as certificates expire
  • On-site — no need to release staff off-site
